The Magic of Translation : Dr. Shailesh Gupta Veer

Image
When she translates my poems into her mother tongue, She captures the essence of my words so true, She translates my emotions, my deepest sighs, And brings my heart to life in her own guise. I think when she translates my work with care, She sits within my heart, with love to share. She captures me, my words, my feelings, my soul, And brings them forth in a language that makes me whole. When we meet face to face someday, I'll ask her, with a curious way: "Are you a magician, with a special might?" "Or is your heart a kindred spirit, connected to mine in sight?" [The poem is a heartfelt tribute to the exceptional talent and dedication of Prof. Ljiljana Samardžić, a renowned Serbian translator and dear friend. Her remarkable ability to translate poetry has not only bridged cultural divides but also forged a deep bond between us. With profound admiration and gratitude, I dedicate this poem to her.] - Dr. Shailesh Gupta Veer  (Editor: Micropoetry Cosmos) Fatehpur, U...

In the Interest of Culture : Dr. Shailesh Gupta Veer

Dedicated to Dear Friend Maria Teresa Liuzzo :- Whether or not I get your company,  My soul chats to you  My heart sways when I hear your voice You say - I am very close to your heart I say - You are in my heart! You are miles away from me But  I feel your presence - with the winds blowing from the west, I see your reflection - in the playful waves rising from the sea, Then the twinkling stars start humming - "How close the two souls are!" I know well - We both are deeply connected on an intellectual level, The philosophy of beauty is  also inherent in this intellectualism, The message of peace and humanity  lies in the unity of the two of us, We will continue to work together  happily in the interest of culture, We will definitely create a new chapter! Darling, you just stay close to my heart And keep chatting with my soul for ages. © Dr. Shailesh Gupta Veer  Fatehpur, UP, India  30/05/2024 [This poem is entirely dedicated to my dear, great frien...
